By Frank Mercer

So you've been hearing about lots of great concerts, sporting events of theatre performances around town, and you'd like to get some tickets. Well the first step is deciding what type of event you'd like to see. Once you've made this decision, the rest will follow.

You've made a decision about the type of event you're going to see. Now it's time to look for a list of venues in your city that may host this type of event. Venues of different sizes and layouts will usually have a unique set of acts coming through each month.

One of the best ways to find information on a type of event, or a venue that may host this event is through Google. Use their search engine to locate venue and artist information. You're now one step closer to getting yourself some tickets.

To find information on a venue or artist, you might consider using social media websites. Facebook is a good place to converse with your friends about which venues/artists are good and which are not. Twitter is also quite useful for retrieving large amounts of information quickly.

So you've been browsing around on different sites and have gotten a few opinions and some basic ticket information. Now it's time to narrow your search and hit up some of the best deals around.

So you've looked around on a couple of different ticketing sites, and you're looking for events in your area. What next? Well, pin down the exact event you'd like to attend and do your best to find one that has enough tickets left over for you and your friends.

If there are tickets to your desired event, check the price. If the website is selling sold out events, they will likely be a little more expensive than their face value. However, as they are sold out you won't have much choice, other than to pay a little bit more for tickets to the great event.

Guess what? You're almost done. You've located enough tickets for you and your friends to an event that is fun and affordable, so it's time to checkout. When you're considering how you will receive your tickets, you may pick them up on the day of the event, or have them sent to your by mail or through email. You're done. Have a good time.
