Alfredo Alfredo: All too normal Italian comedy in regards to a milque toast who triumphs and weds a seductive female, only to remorse his conquest. They contain a couple with a dysfunctional child, an older lady snared in a miserable matrimony, a set of security guards, and an outwardly affable accountant who worked at the World Trade Center, and survived. Discreet, incisive research of suppressed anger uses humor and observation to dramatize the irnportance of living a life that has meaning. Rambo: First Blood Part: Comic magazine action myth of one-man army who goes to Cambodia looking for American MIAs and finds he's been duped by Uncle Sam. By no means uninteresting although remarkably dumb; if one were to take it critically, it could be considered pretty weak, as it capitalizes on genuine-life frustrations of MIA families and Vietnam vets. Cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Charles Napier, Julia Nickson, Steven Berkoff, and Martin Kove. (95 minutes, 1985)
A Nightmare on Elm Street the Dream Child: Fifth iin the Freddy Crugar series with everyone with the exception of Englund just going through the paces. Here, scarred, dreamhaunting Freddy Krueger (Englund) uses the unborn child of Wilcox to strike at her buddies. As typical, visual effects are a highlight however don't spare the film from being a bore. Cast includes Englund, Lisa Wilcox, Kelly Jo Minter, Erika Anderson, Whitby Hertford, and Danny Hassel. (89 minutes, 1989)
Mr. Ricco: Martin in eccentric role as a lawbreaking lawyer engaged with racist killings, sex and various brutalities, although looks too exhausted to care. The film has an excellent puzzling angle to the plot. Cast includes Dean Martin, Eugene Rocbe, Thalmus Rasulala, Geraldine Brooks, Denise Nicholas, Cindy Williams, and Philip Michael Thomas. The Great Manhunt: Fable of the West is nothing particularly special as McCrea dreams of oil wells, while Donlevy takes his gal. Stanwyck ages to one hundred in her role. The Big Shakedown: Inconsequential story where we see Davis denie spouse Farrell while he joins mobster Cortez in counterfeiting cosmetics and other products, often with dire consequences to the buyers.
