When a child shows strong potential it's important that the school they are attending support them with extra classes. Most good schools are more than happy to develop talent- it is usually one of their goals. And providing a program for such talent means more than just weekly classes.

When your child has the opportunity to take extra classes they can progress faster, but it is important not to push too hard. If you put pressure on a young child it will kill their natural curiosity to learn and you will end up with frustration and disappointment. So only arrange extra lessons if your child can handle it.

So if your child begins to show strong signs of being gifted, it might be a good time to look into the sorts of grants or scholarships that might be available.
